The Department of Veterans Affairs chose APCO to provide the interior and exterior signing and wayfinding system for their new Medical Center in North Las Vegas. This new facility - the VA's Crown Jewel - will meet the needs of the large and growing U.S. military Veteran community in Southern Nevada. The $600 million, 1.3 million-square-foot complex is a facility designed to provide outstanding care for our Veterans – from our young warriors returning from the Middle East to our senior Veterans in need of nursing home services.

VA North Las Vegas is the first hospital to be built for Veterans since the end of the Gulf War. Architects designed the complex using lessons learned from the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Hurricane Katrina and the Oklahoma City federal building bombing.

California-based SEGD member, Etc. provided comprehensive design and planning services for the signing and wayfinding at the facility. Flexibility to accommodate future change was critical, as was concealed mechanical fastening and screenprinted or intaglio graphics. The highest quality, most durable materials and finishes were essential to withstand the harsh climate conditions in the southern Nevada desert environment.

The order to provide signage was awarded June 29, 2012 and on August 6th, new interior signs were in place on the first floor of the Main Hospital and Ambulatory Care Clinics. Exterior building identification signs were installed just hours before the Open House. This extraordinarily rapid response was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the designers, installers and the APCO Project Team. We are proud to have our products in use at VA North Las Vegas: a facility committed to providing exceptional medical care to those who have served our country in the military.
