MONTCLAIR UNIVERSITY
New Jersey
When Montclair State University in New Jersey looked for a sign system for their campus, utility and affordability were important factors.
Site conditions pointed to 4-sided pylons, but the traditional fiberglass construction would not fit their budget. The new Quarter Round Post option for SignBar and SignPanel allowed construction of a less expensive 4-sided pylon, supported by the posts in lieu of the traditional concrete foundations.
Montclair was able to implement 53 identification signs, 24 pedestrian and 11 vehicular directionals in addition to the 9 four-sided informational pylons, beginning the school year with a comprehensive signing and wayfinding system for students, staff and visitors. The pylons, made possible by the Quarter Round Post, were capped with a custom roof that included a soft wash light for all four sides.
