Heartland Medical Center
Sebring, Florida
When Florida Hospital decided to add to their facility in Sebring, preservation was as much of a goal as modernization. The original white structure, built in the '40's, was a true architectural gem.
The addition developed by Nix, Mann, Perkins and Will wrapped the north side of the building, preserving its facade, while adding a 2-story corridor with abundant natural light. Directional elements project from the wall, guiding visitors through the grand space.
The form, color and materials selected for the sign systems combine to make it an integral part of the architectural design.
