Sign Systems for Sustainable Design

Incorporating modular signs in a facility is an ecologically sound element
of sustainable design.

OUR PRODUCTS

In the grand scope of a building project, the impact that signage has on the overall environmental footprint is extremely small when compared to the vast amounts of metal, concrete, carpeting and interior finishes used. However, this is not to say that signs should not be a consideration of green building projects.

Although signs do not yet hold a specific place within the widely recognized LEED rating system, we feel APCO signs are an environmentally smart choice.

APCO Products Are Made in the USA
The pollution caused by the transportation of materials has a large impact on our environment and can also play a role with a project's LEED certification. All APCO products are made in the USA, with the vast majority of the components manufactured within 250 miles of our one and only manufacturing facility in Atlanta.

High Quality Modular Systems
APCO products are modular, so updates can be made without replacing the entire sign, expanding the product's life cycle and reducing waste.

Use of Recyclable Aluminum Components
Many of APCO's signs incorporate 100% recyclable aluminum components, including our #1 selling interior product (Arcadia) and #1 selling exterior product (SignBar/SignPanel).

Systems Accommodate Paper Inserts
All of APCO's interior sign systems offer innovative solutions for laser printed paper graphic inserts, allowing the client to use recycled paper and update signs in-house.

Incorporation of Eco-Friendly Materials
APCO offers a range of sign solutions that incorporate materials such as a GREENGUARD certified sign faces, decorative and ADA compliant options comprised of up to 40% recycled content, low or no-VOC inks and more.

APCO is Moving to a Greener Facility!
APCO is now in the process of a multi-million dollar renovation of a 100,000 sq/ft facility located in an industrial renewal zone of Atlanta. We are working with a local architectural firm to make the facility as green as possible, incorporating energy efficient lighting, a gym with changing facilities, water saving features, low VOC carpets, and more. Estimated move-in will be September 2008!
