THE CARTER CENTER
Atlanta, Georgia
The Carter Center is a magnet for dignitaries and visitors from all parts of the globe. Memorabilia from the Carter Presidency along with historical items that chronicle the political career of our first modern day Southern President are displayed in the Museum. Jimmy Carter's personal and presidential papers are archived in the Library. The Carter Center often hosts symposiums where issues of worldwide scope are discussed and debated.
Situated just east of downtown Atlanta, the Carter Center is on the crest of a hill surrounded by a one way access road. Traffic control is critical, as very few of the entrances can accommodate the many buses that visit each day. The PolySign fiberglass monoliths at each entrance and decision point, have been in place since 1991. The system looks good and functions flawlessly, directing traffic to the appropriate entrance and exit.
