With the passing of Article III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which became law in 1992, building signage identifying permanent rooms and spaces is required to include Grade 2 Braille and letters that are raised at least 1/32". Despite all of the complex, ever-changing requirements, ADA compliance does not have to be complicated or expensive for you. In an effort to make compliance easy and affordable, APCO offers a comprehensive line of ADA Legend and Room Number Sets which are compliant with the most current ADA regulations. APCO's ADA Bands provide ADA compliance without compromising product quality or appearance. The background of a thin photosensitive plastic is etched away, leaving 1/32" raised characters and braille. The tactile plastic band is then laminated to an opaque or clear plastic insert of the modular SignMatch or Accord 15 or Arcadia systems. This band may also be used with the APCO Insert Slot component creating an attractive and cost-effective ADA compliant sign.
